At Maestro Filmworks, storytelling has always been at the heart of what we do. Over the years, our passion for creating impactful narratives has evolved into something greater: a commitment to using our craft as a force for good. This ethos was embodied in the founding of our Conductor Project back in 2018, which has grown from its original mission into a broader platform for all of Maestro’s social impact initiatives.
Originally launched as a pro-bono video production program to support nonprofit organizations, our Conductor Project is now the cornerstone of our efforts to give back in more meaningful ways. It encompasses not only volunteerism and financial support but also our stewardship in amplifying the missions of organizations that are making a difference.
Our most recent Conductor Project, TinyWPA, is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering community members, youth and adults alike, through design-build projects that improve public spaces. Inspired by FDR’s Works Progress Administration, the organization was founded in 2012 and became an independent nonprofit in 2014 under the leadership of Alex Gilliam and Renee Schacht. Tiny WPA focuses on small-scale but high-impact civic improvements, fostering a diverse network of “Building Heroes” who learn skills in design, fabrication, and leadership. Through hands-on projects, the organization strengthens neighborhoods, promotes equity, and cultivates the next generation of community-driven changemakers.
We believe that making films is a privilege and with that privilege comes the responsibility to inject purpose into everything we do. This philosophy is woven into our company culture, guiding us to seek opportunities where we can make an impact. Whether it’s dedicating our time to volunteering, providing financial support to vital causes, or leveraging our expertise in film production to create compelling stories, the Conductor Project is our way of ensuring that giving back remains central to our identity.
As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our mission to amplify the voices and missions of organizations that align with our values. Because when purpose meets passion, the stories we tell can help transform our communities.
