Joshua Albright was a healthy, motivated high school athlete, eager to attend college, but everything changed when he was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease at the age of eighteen.
Joshua was forced to reexamine his future and identity as a young man faced with a chronic disease. He is now a member and spokesperson at NephCure, a nonprofit organization that provides access to support groups for those affected by kidney disease and contributes to medical research in finding a cure.
Joshua has become an advocate for patients within Black American and minority communities that are disproportionately affected by kidney disease. Nephcure and Joshua Albright are determined to make a difference and raise awareness of genetic diseases by sharing his story and being a voice for his community.
